Quick Buying Summary

The HiLook 6MP AcuSense kit delivers reliable perimeter protection for small businesses and larger homes needing smart detection across 7 camera positions. Each IPC-T361H-MU turret camera uses AcuSense AI to separate human and vehicle targets from false triggers, keeping alerts meaningful around the clock. A 4TB HDD is included in the 8-channel PoE NVR, and 2 wall brackets are bundled to get the install started.

Why This Model

  • AcuSense AI filtering: Distinguishes humans and vehicles from animals, wind, and debris, so you only receive alerts that actually require a response.
  • 6MP resolution across all 7 cameras: Captures finer facial and plate detail than standard 4MP or 1080p setups, giving usable footage when it matters most.
  • Plug-and-play PoE system: All 7 turrets connect directly to the 8-channel NVR over a single cable per camera, removing the need for a separate PoE switch or power supplies at each camera point.

Product Overview

Model: HiLook Hikvision 6MP AcuSense CCTV Kit - 7x Turret IPC-T361H-MU + 8CH PoE NVR 4TB / 2x Wall

Who This Is For

When covering a full property perimeter without leaving blind spots is the priority, this 7-camera kit is sized for installations that an 8-camera system handles comfortably. Designed for small commercial premises, suburban homes with multiple access points, childcare centres, or light industrial sites, the HiLook 6MP AcuSense kit pairs seven IPC-T361H-MU turret cameras with an 8-channel PoE NVR and 4TB of onboard storage. The AcuSense AI classifies motion events as human or vehicle, which reduces false alert volume significantly compared to basic motion detection. Installers working on single-building projects where a single cable run per camera is preferred will find the PoE architecture straightforward. With one spare channel remaining on the NVR, there is room to add a camera later without replacing the recorder, making this a practical fit for staged rollouts or properties likely to expand their coverage over time.

What This System Actually Does

6MP Turret Imaging

Each IPC-T361H-MU captures at 6 megapixels, giving you usable detail on faces, number plates, and clothing at distances where 2MP cameras start to fall apart. When reviewing footage after an incident, that extra resolution makes a practical difference to what you can actually identify.

AcuSense Human and Vehicle Detection

The AI classification engine separates human and vehicle movement from animals, foliage, and weather. Alerts that reach your phone or monitoring station are tied to actual intrusion events rather than every passing car or gust of wind, reducing alert fatigue on busy sites.

8-Channel PoE NVR with 4TB Storage

The included NVR powers all 7 cameras directly over Cat5e or Cat6, eliminating separate power runs at each camera position. 4TB of onboard storage provides continuous recording capacity across all 7 channels, with a spare channel available for future expansion without replacing the recorder.

Turret Form Factor Flexibility

The IPC-T361H-MU turret housing mounts directly to soffits, eaves, and flat ceilings, and the ball-and-socket design lets you aim the lens after mounting. This avoids the bracket adjustment issues common with dome housings and keeps cable entry concealed for a cleaner finish.

2x Wall Mounts Included

The kit includes 2 wall mount brackets for camera positions where a direct-surface soffit mount is not suitable - corners, rendered brick walls, or locations needing an angled standoff. Having these in the box avoids a separate accessories order before the installation can proceed.

Who Buys This Model

  • Small Business Owners: Retail shops, cafes, and service businesses with multiple entry points, car parks, and back-of-house areas who want AI-filtered alerts rather than constant motion noise from foot traffic.
  • Residential Installers: Electricians and security technicians fitting out larger suburban homes - typically double-storey properties or corner blocks with front, rear, and side fence lines all needing coverage.
  • Childcare and Education Facilities: Operators who need to document access at multiple gates and entry doors, where 6MP resolution provides usable identification detail and AcuSense reduces false alerts during outdoor play periods.
  • Light Industrial and Warehouse Sites: Facilities with vehicle access points, loading areas, and perimeter fences who benefit from the human/vehicle classification to separate genuine after-hours intrusion events from routine logistics activity.

Honest Assessment

This kit delivers genuine value where 6MP resolution and AcuSense AI classification matter. The human and vehicle detection meaningfully reduces false alert volume, and 7 cameras on a single PoE NVR keeps the installation clean with no separate power supplies per camera. The spare 8th channel gives useful flexibility for a staged rollout. The 4TB drive provides solid retention capacity across 7 channels of continuous 6MP recording, though high-activity sites recording at maximum quality may want to confirm their expected retention period before committing to a drive size. This is not the right fit where PTZ tracking, wide-area panoramic coverage, or more than 8 camera positions are required - those scenarios call for a purpose-built PTZ or multi-channel NVR system. The IPC-T361H-MU cameras are also fixed-lens, so sites needing optical zoom or long-range IR over 30-40 metres should consider a bullet camera system instead. The full kit is available through Security Australia with local stock and pre-sales support.

  • 1 x HiLook 8-channel PoE NVR - 4TB HDD pre-installed, AcuSense compatible

Before You Buy

Cable Planning: With 7 cameras all running PoE back to a single NVR, every cable run needs to terminate at the one recorder location. Plan your NVR position before cabling begins - a central comms cabinet or secure cupboard works better than locating the NVR near a single camera cluster. Maximum PoE cable run per camera is 100 metres over Cat5e or Cat6. Runs longer than that will require a PoE extender or mid-span switch, which is not included in this kit.

AcuSense Configuration: AcuSense detection zones and alert types are configured per camera through the NVR interface. Default motion detection is active out of the box, but to get human/vehicle-only alerts you will need to enable the AcuSense event rules for each channel individually during commissioning. Allow extra setup time for a 7-camera install to configure each zone correctly.

Quick Fit Check

  • Good match if: You need to cover 6 or 7 fixed positions on a single property and want AcuSense AI filtering to keep alert volume manageable - the 8-channel NVR with one spare port handles exactly this without over-speccing the recorder.
  • Good match if: Your installation involves a mix of soffit-mount and wall-mount positions, since the 2 included wall brackets mean you are not buying accessories separately to complete a standard mixed-mount install.
  • You may need a different model if: Your site has more than 8 camera positions, requires long-range IR coverage beyond what a turret provides, or needs active pan/tilt/zoom tracking - a larger-channel NVR kit or a dedicated PTZ system from the Security Australia range would be more appropriate.

Real-World Scenarios

Corner Block Residential

A double-storey home on a corner block has front gate, driveway, two side passages, rear yard, and front door all needing coverage. Seven cameras covers each position individually, and AcuSense means the homeowner only receives alerts for people entering the property - not the neighbour's dog.

Retail Strip Tenancy

A small retail or food business with a shopfront, rear lane entry, storage room, and car park positions uses all 7 cameras across interior and exterior zones. 6MP resolution captures till area and entry face detail that 2MP systems cannot reliably deliver for incident review.

Childcare Centre Perimeter

An operator covering a main entry gate, car park drop-off, outdoor play areas, and rear fence uses the 7-camera layout to document all access points. AcuSense filtering separates genuine after-hours entry events from motion caused by animals or trees during wind, keeping overnight alert logs manageable.

Staged Installation

An installer commissions 7 cameras at handover but the client wants to add a driveway camera post-construction. The spare 8th NVR channel handles this without purchasing a new recorder - the additional camera connects directly to the existing NVR when the client is ready.

Light Industrial Unit

A small warehouse or trade unit with a roller door, personnel entry, side yard, and office interior allocates cameras to each zone. Vehicle detection through AcuSense logs delivery truck arrivals separately from staff movement, useful for after-hours access review without trawling irrelevant footage.

How It Compares

  • Choose this if: You need 7 confirmed camera positions covered at 6MP with AI human/vehicle classification, all powered by a single PoE NVR with onboard storage included and no additional hardware required to get the system operational.
  • You may need a different model if: Your site exceeds 8 camera positions, requires long-range outdoor IR beyond a turret's typical range, or needs active PTZ tracking - a higher-channel NVR kit or dedicated PTZ system would be more appropriate for those scenarios.
  • Pairs well with: A PoE network switch if any camera positions are beyond 100 metres from the NVR, or a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) to keep the NVR recording during short power interruptions.

Common Questions

  1. Does this kit include everything needed to get the system running, or do I need to buy cables separately?

The kit includes cameras, NVR, pre-installed 4TB storage, and 2 wall mount brackets, but network cables are not included. You will need to supply Cat5e or Cat6 cable for each of the 7 camera runs. Cable lengths vary by installation, so these are not included in standard kits. All other core components required to make the system operational are in the box.
  2. Will this camera kit send me an alert every time a bird or a tree moves in the wind?

No. The IPC-T361H-MU cameras use AcuSense AI to classify motion events as human or vehicle before triggering an alert. Motion caused by animals, foliage movement, rain, or headlight sweeps does not meet the human/vehicle threshold and is filtered out. You will still need to configure AcuSense detection zones per camera in the NVR during setup to define the areas each camera should analyse.
  3. How long will 4TB of storage last across 7 cameras recording continuously?

Retention depends on recording resolution, frame rate, compression settings, and scene activity level. At 6MP with H.265+ compression (which the HiLook NVR supports), a 7-camera system recording continuously will typically achieve several weeks of retention on 4TB under normal activity conditions. High-motion environments or recording at maximum quality settings will reduce that figure. You can use HiLook's storage calculator or contact Security Australia to confirm a retention estimate for your specific settings before purchase.
  4. Can I add an 8th camera to this system later without buying a new NVR?

Yes. The NVR in this kit has 8 channels and the kit uses 7 of them, leaving 1 spare port. A compatible HiLook or Hikvision PoE IP camera can be connected directly to the spare channel at any point after initial commissioning. No recorder replacement is required for that single addition.
  5. Do the turret cameras in this kit work in colour at night, or only in black and white?

The IPC-T361H-MU uses infrared night vision, which produces black and white footage in low-light and no-light conditions. This camera does not have full-colour night vision capability. If colour night vision is a firm requirement - for example, capturing clothing colour detail in a completely unlit area - a full-colour or TiOC turret camera would be a more appropriate choice.
  6. Will this system work with cameras or NVRs from other brands I already have on site?

The NVR in this kit is designed to work natively with HiLook and Hikvision cameras, which ensures full AcuSense AI functionality. Third-party ONVIF cameras may connect at a basic level, but AcuSense human/vehicle classification and advanced event features typically require HiLook or Hikvision camera pairing to function as intended. Mixing brands is possible but may result in reduced feature availability on the non-native cameras.
