Product Overview
Model: HiLook Turret AcuSense Kit 6MP/16CH T262 x10
Who This Is For
Property managers specifying a complete outdoor camera system for medium-to-large sites - whether that's a commercial property, school campus, warehouse or a residential complex - will find this kit delivers a ready-to-configure setup without sourcing components individually. The HiLook by Hikvision 10 x 6MP IPC-T262H-MU AcuSense 16-channel kit pairs 10 IP67-rated turret cameras with a 16-channel NVR featuring 8 built-in PoE ports, so cameras run off a single Cat cable per location. AcuSense technology classifies humans and vehicles rather than responding to every motion event, which meaningfully cuts down on nuisance alerts. With 6 spare NVR channels included, the system is ready to grow as monitoring requirements expand. Note that a hard drive is not included and must be selected separately to enable local recording.
What This System Actually Does
AcuSense Human & Vehicle Classification
Deep learning algorithms on each camera separate human and vehicle movement from animals, foliage, and other triggers. The NVR only pushes alerts for targets that matter, reducing alarm fatigue and keeping response times meaningful on busy sites.
6MP Resolution at 3072 x 2048
Each camera captures significantly more detail than a standard 4MP or 1080p unit. At 6MP you can digitally zoom into recorded footage and still read signage, identify clothing, or distinguish facial features at usable distances within the 2.8mm lens field of view.
30m EXIR Night Vision
EXIR technology distributes infrared illumination evenly across the frame, avoiding the blown-out centre and dark edges common with standard IR. In total darkness at up to 30 metres, the cameras maintain consistent greyscale detail across the full image width.
120dB True Wide Dynamic Range
True WDR at 120dB handles scenes where bright outdoor light meets shadowed areas in the same frame - entrances facing the sun, roller door openings, or car parks with mixed overhead and ambient light - without sacrificing detail in either zone.
16-Channel NVR with 8 Built-In PoE Ports
The included NVR-216MH-C/16P powers and connects up to 8 cameras directly via its own PoE ports. The remaining 8 channels support cameras connected through a PoE switch, giving installers a clear path to expand the system without replacing the recorder.
H.265+ Compression
H.265+ encoding on both the cameras and NVR significantly reduces the file size of 6MP footage compared to H.264. For a 10-camera system running continuous recording, this translates directly into longer retention on the same hard drive capacity.
Who Buys This Model
- Commercial Property Managers: Sites needing 8-10 cameras across car parks, building entries, and stairwells, where AcuSense reduces overnight false alerts without requiring a monitored alarm integration.
- School and Childcare Facility Administrators: Outdoor perimeter and playground coverage using IP67-rated cameras that handle Australian weather year-round, with 6MP detail for incident review.
- Warehouse and Light Industrial Operators: Loading dock and yard monitoring where the 2.8mm wide-angle lens covers large open areas and AcuSense triggers alerts specifically on vehicle or pedestrian movement after hours.
- Electrical Contractors and Installers: Specifying a complete matched kit - cameras, NVR, and PoE in one order - to simplify procurement and guarantee hardware compatibility on a single job.
- Residential Body Corporates: Multi-unit complexes covering shared entry points, garages, and communal areas who need a scalable 16-channel platform with room to add cameras in future stages.
Honest Assessment
This kit's genuine strengths are the combination of AcuSense classification, 6MP resolution, and a matched NVR in a single order. For sites that generate constant motion alerts from trees, animals, or passing traffic, the reduction in false positives is a practical operational benefit rather than a marketing claim. The 120dB True WDR handles difficult entrance and car park lighting scenarios well, and H.265+ keeps storage requirements manageable at 6MP across 10 channels.
What this kit will not do: the 2.8mm fixed lens is a wide-angle view suited to coverage within roughly 10-15 metres - it is not the right choice for long-approach monitoring or licence plate capture at distance. The cameras include a built-in microphone only; there is no two-way audio. No hard drive is included, so storage must be budgeted separately. Sites needing varifocal lens adjustment or longer IR throw should consider a different camera model, available through Security Australia alongside compatible NVR options.
Complete Package Contents
- 10 x HiLook IPC-T262H-MU AcuSense Turret Camera - 6MP, 2.8mm fixed lens, 30m EXIR IR, 120dB True WDR, IP67, built-in microphone, H.265+

Before You Buy
Hard Drive Required: This kit ships without a hard drive. The NVR-216MH-C/16P accepts a standard 3.5-inch SATA surveillance-grade HDD. At 6MP H.265+ across 10 cameras on continuous recording, plan for a minimum of 4TB for approximately 7 days of retention - 8TB or higher is recommended for sites needing 14-30 days. Do not use a desktop or laptop drive; use a surveillance-rated HDD designed for 24/7 write cycles.
PoE Port Planning: The NVR has 8 built-in PoE ports, and this kit includes 10 cameras. The remaining 2 cameras must connect through an external PoE switch on the network, then plug into the NVR's non-PoE IP channels. Plan your switch and cabling runs for those 2 cameras before installation day. All 10 cameras appear on the NVR regardless of connection method.
Quick Fit Check
- Good match if: You need to cover 8-10 outdoor locations on a single site and want AcuSense human and vehicle classification to reduce false alert volumes on an existing monitoring workflow.
- Good match if: You are planning for future expansion - the 16-channel NVR has 6 spare channels to add cameras in a second stage without replacing the recorder.
- You may need a different model if: Your primary requirement is licence plate capture on a driveway or long-range monitoring beyond 15 metres - a bullet-style camera with a varifocal or telephoto lens will serve that application better.
Key Features & Technical Specifications
Real-World Scenarios
How It Compares
- Choose this if: You need a complete matched 10-camera outdoor system with AcuSense classification, 6MP detail, and room to expand to 16 cameras without replacing the NVR.
- You may need a different model if: Your site requires licence plate recognition, long-range IR beyond 30 metres, or varifocal lens adjustment at installation - a bullet camera kit with motorised zoom or dedicated ANPR cameras will be more appropriate for those applications.
- Pairs well with: A surveillance-grade 3.5-inch SATA hard drive (4TB minimum, 8TB recommended for extended retention) and a managed PoE switch if more than 8 cameras need direct powered connections.
Common Questions
-
Does this kit include a hard drive?
No. The NVR-216MH-C/16P ships without a hard drive installed. You will need to add a 3.5-inch SATA surveillance-grade HDD before the system can record. For 10 cameras at 6MP using H.265+ compression on continuous recording, a 4TB drive provides roughly 7 days of retention. An 8TB drive is more practical for most commercial deployments needing 14 days or more. -
Will all 10 cameras connect directly to the NVR's PoE ports?
No, not directly - the NVR has 8 built-in PoE ports. Eight cameras connect directly to the recorder. The remaining 2 cameras require an external PoE switch connected to the NVR's network input. All 10 cameras will appear and record through the NVR regardless of whether they connect via the built-in ports or an external switch. -
What does AcuSense actually do differently from standard motion detection?
AcuSense uses deep learning to classify detected objects as human or vehicle rather than triggering on any movement. Standard motion detection responds to pixel change - animals, trees, car headlights sweeping across a wall, and rain can all trigger an alert. AcuSense on the IPC-T262H-MU filters those out and only pushes a notification when a person or vehicle is confirmed, which substantially reduces nuisance alerts on outdoor sites. -
Does this system support two-way audio?
No. The IPC-T262H-MU cameras include a built-in microphone for audio recording only. There is no built-in speaker on these cameras, so two-way audio communication is not supported by this kit. If two-way audio is a requirement, a different camera model with both built-in microphone and speaker will be needed. -
Will this kit work for licence plate capture on a driveway entry?
Not as the primary licence plate solution. The 2.8mm fixed lens provides a wide field of view suited to area coverage rather than narrow long-range capture. Licence plate recognition requires a narrower angle lens - typically 6mm or longer - positioned precisely on the vehicle approach lane. This kit is better suited to general perimeter and access area coverage. Dedicated ANPR cameras are stocked by Security Australia if licence plate capture is a core requirement. -
Can I add more cameras to this system in the future?
Yes. The NVR-216MH-C/16P has 16 channels total, and this kit uses 10 of them. Six channels remain available for additional cameras. Cameras beyond the 8 built-in PoE ports will need an external PoE switch, but they connect to the same NVR and record alongside the original 10. This makes the kit a practical foundation for a site that anticipates adding coverage areas in a later stage. -
How does 120dB True WDR differ from standard WDR or digital WDR?
True WDR uses a hardware process - capturing multiple exposures simultaneously at the sensor level - to handle scenes with extreme contrast between bright and dark areas. 120dB is a high specification for this class of camera, meaning it retains detail in very bright outdoor areas and deep shadows within the same frame. Digital WDR, by contrast, is a software process applied after capture and performs significantly worse in high-contrast scenes. For entrances, car parks, and building exteriors with mixed lighting, True WDR produces noticeably more usable footage.
Cabling Considerations
- Cable Type: Cat5e minimum, Cat6 recommended for all camera runs.
- Max Cable Run: 100 metres per camera from PoE source (NVR port or external PoE switch) to camera. Runs beyond 100 metres require a PoE extender.
- PoE Notes: 8 cameras can connect directly to the NVR-216MH-C/16P built-in PoE ports. The remaining 2 cameras in this kit require an external IEEE 802.3af PoE switch connected to the NVR's network port.
- Wiring Tips: Run conduit or weatherproof cable management for all outdoor cable sections. Terminate each run cleanly at a junction box before entering the building to prevent water ingress tracking along the cable jacket into the wall cavity.
