Quick Buying Summary

Built as a 4-camera turret kit for residential and small commercial surveillance, the HiLook 6MP AcuSense system pairs 4 weatherproof turret cameras with a 4-channel PoE NVR for a straightforward plug-and-play setup. AcuSense technology cuts false alerts by filtering notifications to human and vehicle detections only. Note: no HDD included - a compatible drive is required for local recording.

Why This Model

  • AcuSense false alarm filtering: Cameras distinguish humans and vehicles from other motion triggers, so you only receive alerts that actually warrant attention - critical for busy outdoor areas like driveways and car parks.
  • Built-in PoE NVR: The included 4-port PoE NVR powers and connects all 4 cameras over a single cable each, eliminating the need for separate power adapters or a PoE switch.

Product Overview

Model: HiLook 4CH AcuSense Turret Kit - 4x IPC-T262H-MU (Black)

Who This Is For

For small business owners and homeowners who need a complete, ready-to-run outdoor surveillance system without sourcing components separately, the HiLook 4-Channel AcuSense Turret Kit delivers everything in a single box. The kit pairs 4 x IPC-T262H-MU 6MP turret cameras with a 4-channel PoE NVR, so installation comes down to running Cat5e or Cat6 cable from camera to NVR - no separate power supplies required at each camera position. AcuSense human and vehicle detection is built into every camera, which means the system generates actionable alerts rather than constant motion triggers from trees, shadows, or passing animals. This is a well-suited starting point for houses with multiple entry points, small retail premises, warehouses, or any site where an installer needs a clean 4-camera solution that can be commissioned and handed over quickly.

What This System Actually Does

AcuSense Human & Vehicle Detection

Each IPC-T262H-MU analyses motion events and classifies them as human or vehicle before triggering an alert. In practice this eliminates most nuisance notifications caused by wind, animals, or lighting changes, so the alerts you do receive are worth checking.

6MP Resolution at Entry-Level Price

At 6 megapixels, each camera captures noticeably more detail than a standard 4MP or 1080p unit. That extra resolution matters when you need to identify a face at a doorway or read a number plate in the camera's field of view.

Dual IR Night Vision to 30m

Dual infrared LEDs extend coverage to 30 metres in complete darkness. The cameras switch to IR mode automatically at low light, producing monochrome footage across driveways, side gates, and outdoor areas where ambient lighting is absent.

120dB True WDR

Wide dynamic range at 120dB handles scenes where a bright exterior is visible through a darker foreground, such as a doorway facing sunlight. Both the bright and shadowed portions of the image remain legible rather than one area washing out.

4-Port PoE NVR - One Cable Per Camera

The included NVR-104MH-C-4P supplies power and carries video data over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable per camera. There are no separate injectors or power adapters required at camera positions, which reduces installation time and potential failure points.

Remote Monitoring via HiLookVision App

Live view, playback, and alarm notifications are accessible from iOS and Android devices through the HiLookVision app. The system can also be monitored via PC client software, which suits installers who want to set up remote access for their clients at handover.

Who Buys This Model

  • Residential installers: Fitting a 4-camera solution across a house with front door, back yard, driveway, and side gate - the PoE NVR keeps cabling simple and the kit arrives pre-matched.
  • Small retail and hospitality operators: Monitoring entry points, stock areas, and car parks where AcuSense filtering reduces staff alert fatigue from constant motion events.
  • Property managers: Specifying a cost-effective, remotely accessible system for rental properties or small strata sites where the HiLookVision app provides the tenant or caretaker with convenient live access.
  • DIY installers with a basic networking background: The plug-and-play PoE design and guided app setup lower the technical barrier for those running their own Cat6 cable and commissioning the NVR without a dedicated integrator.

Honest Assessment

This kit does the fundamentals well. AcuSense detection at this price point is a genuine advantage over basic motion-trigger systems, and the 6MP resolution gives useful image detail across typical residential and small commercial distances. The PoE NVR eliminates the most common cabling complication for first-time installs, and H.265+ compression keeps storage demands manageable. The 2.8mm fixed lens suits wide-angle coverage of doorways and open areas but will not pull in detail from distances beyond 10-12 metres at a useful identification level. This kit is available through Security Australia as a black housing variant, which suits darker eave and soffit installations. If your site needs cameras beyond 4, long-range IR past 30 metres, optical zoom, or a speaker for two-way audio, a larger channel NVR kit or a bullet camera with extended IR range would serve you better.

Complete Package Contents

  • 4 x HiLook IPC-T262H-MU - 6MP AcuSense Turret Camera, 2.8mm Fixed Lens, 30m Dual IR, IP67, Built-in Microphone, Black Housing
  • 1 x HiLook NVR-104MH-C-4P - 4-Channel PoE NVR, 4K HDMI Output, 4 PoE Ports

Before You Buy

Storage Planning: The NVR-104MH-C-4P ships without a hard drive. You will need to add a compatible surveillance-grade HDD (CMR, not SMR) before the system can record. Factor the drive size into your quote - 4 cameras at 6MP continuous recording will consume roughly 1.5-2TB per week depending on H.265+ compression settings and motion-triggered recording schedules. A 4TB or 6TB drive is a practical starting point for most installations.

Cable Run Length: The NVR's built-in PoE ports support a maximum cable run of 100 metres per camera over Cat5e or Cat6. If any camera position exceeds that distance, you will need a PoE extender or a mid-span switch rather than a longer cable run, which will not carry PoE reliably beyond that limit.

Quick Fit Check

  • Good match if: You are covering 4 camera positions across a residential or small commercial site and want AcuSense human and vehicle filtering to reduce false alert volume without moving to a higher-tier camera range.
  • Good match if: Your installation requires cameras on dark eaves or soffits where the black housing blends in, and the 30m dual IR range covers the monitored approach or zone.
  • You may need a different model if: You need more than 4 camera positions, IR range beyond 30 metres, or motorised zoom for long-distance identification - a larger-channel NVR kit or a bullet camera system from the Security Australia range would be more appropriate.

Real-World Scenarios

Residential 4-Point Coverage

A homeowner positions cameras at the front door, driveway entrance, rear yard gate, and side passage. Single Cat6 runs from each camera back to the NVR in the garage. AcuSense filtering means only human or vehicle events generate phone notifications overnight.

Small Retail Premises

A shop installs cameras covering the front entry, rear loading door, car park, and till area. The 6MP resolution captures enough detail at entry points for identification purposes, and the HiLookVision app lets the owner check live view remotely outside trading hours.

Rental Property Monitoring

A property manager installs the kit at a rental property to cover entry and common areas. Remote access via the app allows the manager to verify alarm events without attending site, and the IP67 cameras handle year-round outdoor exposure without maintenance issues.

After-Hours Coverage in Low Light

A business with minimal exterior lighting uses the 30m dual IR range to cover a dark car park and loading area overnight. Cameras switch to infrared automatically and continue producing usable footage without any external lighting infrastructure.

High-Contrast Entry Points

A camera mounted above a sun-facing front door uses 120dB WDR to handle the brightness difference between the shaded foreground and the lit exterior. Both the person at the door and the outdoor area remain visible in the same frame rather than one area overexposing.

How It Compares

  • Choose this if: You need a complete 4-camera outdoor system with AcuSense filtering, PoE simplicity, and 6MP resolution in a single pre-matched kit at an entry-level price point.
  • You may need a different model if: Your site has more than 4 camera positions, requires IR range beyond 30 metres, or demands varifocal lenses for adjustable coverage angles - an 8-channel NVR kit or a bullet camera system with extended IR would be a better fit.
  • Pairs well with: A surveillance-grade 3.5-inch HDD (4TB or larger), PoE extenders for runs exceeding 100 metres, and a UPS unit to keep the NVR running through brief power interruptions.

Common Questions

  1. Does this kit include a hard drive?

No. The HiLook NVR-104MH-C-4P is supplied without a hard drive. You will need to purchase and install a compatible 3.5-inch surveillance-grade HDD separately before the system can record footage. A CMR-type drive (not SMR) is recommended for NVR use. For 4 cameras recording at 6MP with H.265+ compression using motion-triggered recording, a 4TB drive typically provides several weeks of storage.
  2. Will this kit work with cameras I already own?

Partially. The NVR-104MH-C-4P is compatible with ONVIF cameras, though full AcuSense detection features are only supported with HiLook and Hikvision cameras. If you add third-party cameras, you may lose smart detection functionality and receive only basic motion alerts. The 4 included IPC-T262H-MU cameras use all 4 available PoE channels, so adding additional cameras would require a different NVR.
  3. Does the kit support two-way audio?

No. The IPC-T262H-MU cameras include a built-in microphone for one-way audio capture, but they do not have a built-in speaker. Two-way audio requires both a microphone and speaker in the camera, and this model only has the microphone. Audio is recorded to the NVR and can be played back, but you cannot speak through these cameras.
  4. How does AcuSense reduce false alarms compared to standard motion detection?

AcuSense uses onboard AI to classify motion events as human, vehicle, or other before triggering a notification. Standard motion detection triggers on any pixel change - wind in trees, passing car headlights, or animals - resulting in a high volume of irrelevant alerts. With AcuSense enabled on each IPC-T262H-MU, only events where a human or vehicle is confirmed in the frame generate push notifications to the HiLookVision app.
  5. Will this system work if my internet goes down?

Yes, for local recording. The NVR-104MH-C-4P records directly to the installed hard drive regardless of internet connectivity. Live view on a locally connected monitor via the 4K HDMI output also continues without internet. Remote access through the HiLookVision app and push notifications require an active internet connection at the NVR's location.
  6. What cable do I need to run between the NVR and each camera?

Cat5e or Cat6 cable carries both power and video data over a single run per camera. Maximum run length from the NVR's PoE port to the camera is 100 metres. Beyond that distance, a PoE extender is required. Security Australia stocks PoE extenders and Cat6 cable if you need to plan longer runs. Shielded cable (STP) is advisable near sources of electrical interference.
  7. Can I view footage remotely when I'm not on site?

Yes. The HiLookVision app on iOS or Android connects to the NVR over the internet, providing live view, recorded footage playback, and alert notifications from anywhere with a data connection. Initial remote setup requires port forwarding on your router or use of the HiLook cloud connection feature. The NVR can also be accessed via PC client software for desktop monitoring.
