Product Overview
Model: T94S01P
Who This Is For
For installers specifying Axis network cameras in demanding outdoor environments who need a clean, code-compliant conduit termination point without an additional weatherproof enclosure. The AXIS T94S01P Conduit Back Box sits directly behind compatible cameras from the P32, P33, Q35, and Q36 series, providing an IP66/IP67-rated and IK10+ impact-resistant compartment to house connectivity devices such as IP-over-COAX adapters or cable couplers. It accepts 3/4" conduit entrances on the sides and multiple cable entry points at the rear, making it well suited to commercial sites, councils, transport infrastructure, and any installation where conduit runs are mandated or where the cable junction needs to survive exposure, impact, and long-term outdoor weathering. If a tidy, durable back-of-camera conduit solution for an Axis dome or fixed camera is the design requirement, this is the component that fills that gap.
What This Back Box Actually Does
IP66/IP67 Ingress Protection
The sealed compartment inside the back box carries dual IP ratings, meaning it blocks both wind-driven water jets and temporary submersion. Connectivity devices stored inside are protected from the outdoor conditions the camera itself faces, without needing a separate weatherproof cabinet.
IK10+ Impact Resistance
Rated beyond the standard IK10 threshold, the powder-coated aluminium casing resists deliberate impact and incidental knocks in high-traffic or public-facing locations. Where vandalism or physical interference is a real concern, the housing adds meaningful protection to both camera mount and cabling junction.
Conduit-Ready Cable Management
Side entries accept 3/4" conduit, and three cable holes at the rear allow flexible routing depending on the wall or junction box layout. Included M20 gaskets seal around cable entries, maintaining the IP rating without requiring additional waterproofing products on site.
Junction Box Compatibility
Mounts directly onto double gang, single gang, 4" octagon, and 4" square junction boxes - the standard electrical back boxes used in most commercial installations. This removes the need to add a custom adapter or bespoke mounting bracket between the conduit run and the camera.
Integrated Connectivity Device Storage
The internal compartment is sized to house IP-over-COAX adapters or network cable couplers at the camera mount point. Both the camera and its associated connectivity device share the same mounting location, eliminating the separate enclosure that would otherwise be needed nearby.
Who Buys This Model
- Commercial security installers: Specifying Axis P32, P33, Q35, or Q36 series cameras on sites where conduit runs are required by the building specification or local authority, and a neat, rated termination point is needed at each camera position.
- Council and transport infrastructure teams: Deploying outdoor cameras on poles, walls, or overpass structures where IK10+ impact resistance and IP66/IP67 weathering performance are non-negotiable for the long service life expected on public assets.
- Retrofit and coax-to-IP migration projects: Sites converting existing coaxial cable runs to IP cameras use the internal compartment to house IP-over-COAX adapters directly behind the camera, keeping the junction clean and weatherproof without running entirely new cabling.
- Electrical contractors working to conduit specifications: Where the electrical design mandates conduit all the way to the camera mount point, the 3/4" conduit side entries and junction box compatibility allow the installer to meet that requirement without improvising at the camera end.
Honest Assessment
The T94S01P solves a specific installation problem well: it provides an IP66/IP67 and IK10+ rated housing at the back of a compatible Axis dome or fixed camera, terminates conduit cleanly, and stores a connectivity device at the mount point so a separate enclosure is not required. The powder-coated aluminium build is appropriate for long-term outdoor exposure, and the junction box compatibility covers the most common electrical back boxes used in commercial construction. The 2.3 kg maximum load rating accommodates the supported camera series without issue. What it will not do is suit cameras outside the P32, P33, Q35, and Q36 series - compatibility must be confirmed against the specific camera model before purchase. It is also not designed as a standalone weatherproof enclosure for electronics beyond what fits the internal compartment. Available through Security Australia, this back box is a component-level purchase best suited to planned conduit installations rather than a quick retrofit without conduit.
Before You Buy
Compatibility Check: The T94S01P is confirmed for the AXIS P32, P33, Q35, and Q36 network camera series. Before ordering, verify your specific camera model against the Axis compatibility list - not all cameras in each series are necessarily supported, and using this back box with an unsupported model may create mounting misalignment or void IP rating compliance at the junction.
Conduit Adapter Requirement: The side entries are sized for 3/4" conduit. If your conduit run uses M25 metric fittings, confirm the correct AXIS ACI Conduit Adapter variant is ordered alongside this back box. The adapters are listed as optional accessories and are not included in the box - arriving on site without the correct adapter will stall the installation.
Quick Fit Check
- Good match if: Your installation uses conduit runs terminating at the camera mount and you need a rated, clean junction point - the 3/4" conduit side entries, M20 gaskets, and IP66/IP67 rating handle this without an additional enclosure.
- Good match if: You are migrating an existing coaxial cable site to IP cameras using IP-over-COAX adapters - the internal compartment houses the adapter directly behind the camera, and the IK10+ housing protects it in exposed or public-facing locations.
- You may need a different model if: Your camera is not from the Axis P32, P33, Q35, or Q36 series - a different mounting accessory designed for your specific camera model will be the correct fit, and the Security Australia range includes Axis-compatible mounting options for other series.

Real-World Scenarios
How It Compares
- Choose this if: Your installation uses conduit, requires IP66/IP67 weatherproofing at the camera mount point, and needs to house a connectivity device such as an IP-over-COAX adapter directly behind a compatible Axis P32, P33, Q35, or Q36 series camera.
- You may need a different model if: Your camera is from an Axis series not covered by the T94S01P compatibility list - a mounting accessory matched to your specific camera model will be the appropriate choice, and other Axis mounting accessories are available to suit different series.
- Pairs well with: Axis-compatible pole mounts and corner brackets where conduit runs terminate at elevated or angled camera positions, and IP-over-COAX adapters or network cable couplers stored within the internal compartment.
Common Questions
-
Which Axis cameras does the T94S01P actually work with?
The T94S01P is confirmed for the AXIS P32, P33, Q35, and Q36 network camera series. It is not a universal back box for all Axis cameras. Before purchasing, check your specific camera model number against the Axis compatibility documentation, as not every variant within each series has been confirmed. Using it with an unsupported camera may result in mounting misalignment or a compromised IP seal at the junction. -
Does this back box maintain its IP rating when conduit is connected?
Yes, provided the correct M20 gaskets are used at each cable entry point. The included gaskets seal around cables with diameters of 3-5 mm and 5-9.5 mm depending on which gasket set is fitted. Unused entries must be properly plugged. The IP66/IP67 rating applies to the assembled and correctly sealed unit - open or improperly sealed cable entries will compromise the rating. -
Will this work with metric M25 conduit as well as 3/4" imperial conduit?
Not directly out of the box. The side entries are sized for 3/4" conduit. For M25 metric conduit, Axis lists the AXIS ACI Conduit Adapter M25 as an optional accessory for this back box. This adapter is not included and must be ordered separately. Confirm the correct adapter variant before installation if your conduit run uses metric sizing. -
What can actually fit inside the internal compartment?
The compartment is designed to house compact connectivity devices. Confirmed examples include IP-over-COAX adapters and network cable couplers. The back box measures 157 mm in diameter and 53.5 mm in height, which sets the practical size limit for any device intended to sit inside. Devices that require their own separate enclosure or that exceed these spatial constraints will not fit. -
Does the T94S01P mount directly onto a standard electrical junction box?
Yes. It is confirmed to mount directly onto double gang, single gang, 4" octagon, and 4" square junction boxes - the four most common electrical back box formats used in Australian commercial construction. This means on sites where junction boxes have already been installed as part of the conduit run, no additional adapter plate is needed between the junction box and the back box. -
Is the IK10+ rating meaningfully different from a standard IK10 product?
Yes. IK10 under IEC 62262 represents resistance to 20 joules of impact energy. IK10+ indicates the product has been tested and rated to withstand impacts beyond that threshold. For a back box installed in a publicly accessible location - a pathway, carpark, or transit area - that additional margin matters when the mount point could be struck deliberately or by equipment such as cleaning vehicles or trolleys. The rating is independently certified under IEC/EN 62262 and is confirmed for this product through Security Australia. -
Can this back box be used with a pole mount or corner bracket?
Yes. Axis lists the AXIS T91A47 Pole Mount and AXIS T94R01B Corner Bracket as compatible optional accessories for the T94S01P. These allow the back box and camera to be mounted on round poles or at 90-degree wall corners respectively, which is useful for perimeter coverage on sites where flat wall mounting is not available at the required camera position.
