Product Overview
Model: P1467-LE
Who This Is For
When withstanding harsh outdoor conditions without compromising analytical performance is the priority, the AXIS P1467-LE is built to meet that brief. Rated IP66, IP67, NEMA 4X and IK10, and tested to endure winds up to 50 m/s, this 5 MP bullet camera is engineered for sites where both the environment and the workload are demanding - loading docks, perimeter fences, car parks, transport depots, and critical infrastructure. Its ARTPEC-8 processor with a dedicated Deep Learning Processing Unit runs AXIS Object Analytics onboard, classifying humans, vehicles, and vehicle types without relying on server-side processing. Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR up to 120 dB handle the mixed-lighting scenarios common to outdoor commercial sites, while OptimizedIR supports night-time coverage. Installers and security integrators specifying a camera that handles edge analytics, extreme weather, and sustained 5 MP output in a single fixed bullet housing will find the P1467-LE a direct fit for that requirement.
What This Camera Actually Does
On-Camera Object Analytics
The ARTPEC-8 chip includes a dedicated Deep Learning Processing Unit that runs AXIS Object Analytics directly on the camera. It classifies humans, vehicles, and vehicle sub-types without offloading to a server - reducing bandwidth and keeping detection responsive even when network load is high.
Forensic WDR at 120 dB
Forensic WDR handles scenes with simultaneous bright and dark areas - such as a gatehouse entrance with sunlight behind a vehicle. At up to 120 dB depending on the scene, it retains usable detail in both the shadowed and overexposed areas of the same frame.
Lightfinder 2.0 Colour in Low Light
Lightfinder 2.0 keeps the image in colour at low ambient light levels before switching to IR-assisted monochrome. For outdoor sites with partial lighting - car parks with scattered poles, for example - this extends the period where colour detail such as clothing or vehicle colour is retained in footage.
IK10 + IP66/67 + Wind Rating
The P1467-LE carries IK10 impact resistance, IP66 and IP67 dust and water ingress ratings, NEMA 4X certification, and is tested to handle winds up to 50 m/s. That combination makes it a practical option for exposed outdoor positions where tampering, driving rain, or coastal conditions are a concern.
Axis Zipstream Bandwidth Savings
Zipstream is built into both H.264 and H.265 streams. It dynamically reduces bitrate on static parts of the scene while preserving detail where motion or forensically relevant content is detected - keeping storage and bandwidth costs down across multi-camera NVR systems without reducing evidential image quality.
Axis Edge Vault Security
Edge Vault is a hardware-based security module that stores a unique cryptographic Axis device ID on the camera itself. This simplifies secure network onboarding and authorisation, and protects against tampering with the device's identity - a relevant consideration for enterprise and government deployments where network security audits are standard.
Who Buys This Model
- Security Integrators on Government and Critical Infrastructure Contracts: Axis Edge Vault and ARTPEC-8 edge analytics support the cybersecurity and network authorisation requirements common to these projects, while the IK10 and IP67 ratings cover exposed installation positions.
- Transport and Logistics Operators: Depots, freight yards, and bus terminals running long approaches and vehicle traffic benefit from AXIS Object Analytics classifying vehicle types on the camera itself, reducing the processing load on the VMS.
- Industrial Site Managers: Manufacturing facilities and mining support sites specifying cameras for perimeter coverage in harsh environments - where wind, dust, water ingress, and physical impact are real risks - choose the P1467-LE for its combined NEMA 4X and IK10 ratings.
- IT and Network Teams Managing Multi-Site Systems: Zipstream across H.264 and H.265, up to 8 cropped view areas per camera, and configurable VBR/ABR/MBR streaming give network teams granular control over bandwidth and storage allocation across large deployments.
- Installers Specifying High-Frame-Rate Capture: The 720p capture mode at up to 180 fps supports sites where fast-moving subjects - vehicles at boom gates, for example - need to be captured with minimal motion blur for post-incident review.
Honest Assessment
The AXIS P1467-LE does several things genuinely well. Its ARTPEC-8 DLPU runs object classification at the edge without server dependency, its Forensic WDR at up to 120 dB handles the contrast extremes common to outdoor commercial sites, and its build credentials - IP66, IP67, NEMA 4X, IK10, 50 m/s wind rating - are among the most complete in its class. Zipstream keeps the storage footprint manageable across multi-camera deployments, and Edge Vault addresses network security requirements that are increasingly standard on enterprise and government projects. Where the P1467-LE is not the right tool: it is a fixed-lens bullet camera with digital PTZ only, so if the site requires optical zoom, motorised lens adjustment, or active pan-and-tilt tracking of moving subjects across a wide area, a PTZ camera from the range available through Security Australia would be a more appropriate choice. It also does not include a built-in microphone or speaker.
Before You Buy
Installer Note: The P1467-LE's audio section supports an external microphone input and network speaker pairing via edge-to-edge technology - it does not include a built-in microphone or speaker. If site requirements include audible deterrence or on-site announcements, budget for a compatible network speaker and plan the pairing configuration within AXIS Camera Station or your chosen VMS before installation. Also confirm your PoE switch or injector meets the camera's power draw before cabling - check the official Axis datasheet for confirmed power consumption figures.
Mounting and Lens Orientation: The P1467-LE is a fixed bullet housing. The lens cannot be optically adjusted post-installation. Set your required field of view during the site survey - vertical coverage angle, horizontal span, and IR throw distance - before committing to a mounting position. Repositioning after cable termination is significantly more time-consuming than confirming the angle during rough-in.
Quick Fit Check
- Good match if: You are covering a fixed outdoor approach - loading dock, perimeter fence line, or car park entry - where on-camera human and vehicle classification via AXIS Object Analytics removes the need for server-side analytics processing.
- Good match if: The installation environment involves extreme weather exposure and the site specification requires IP67, NEMA 4X, and IK10 simultaneously - the P1467-LE carries all three confirmed ratings alongside a 50 m/s wind test result.
- You may need a different model if: The coverage area requires active optical zoom, motorised pan-and-tilt movement, or auto-tracking of moving subjects across a wide scene - in that case, a PTZ camera will serve the site better than a fixed bullet housing with digital zoom only.
Key Features & Technical Specifications
Real-World Scenarios
How It Compares
- Choose this if: You need on-camera human and vehicle classification via AXIS Object Analytics in a fixed bullet housing with IP67, NEMA 4X, and IK10 simultaneously - that specific combination is what separates the P1467-LE from lower-rated outdoor cameras.
- You may need a different model if: The site requires optical zoom, motorised pan-and-tilt, or auto-tracking of subjects across a wide scene - a dedicated PTZ camera will serve that requirement better than a fixed bullet with digital zoom only.
- Pairs well with: A compatible network video recorder with H.265 and Zipstream support, and an external Axis network speaker if on-site audio response capability is needed alongside the camera's external audio input.
Common Questions
-
Does the P1467-LE have built-in two-way audio?
No. The camera includes an external microphone input (line or mic level) and supports network speaker pairing via Axis edge-to-edge technology - but it does not have a built-in microphone or built-in speaker. If you need audible deterrence or two-way communication at the camera position, a compatible Axis network speaker must be added separately and paired through the camera's configuration interface. -
Will this camera work in an exposed coastal or high-wind environment?
Yes. The P1467-LE is rated IP66, IP67, and NEMA 4X for dust and water ingress, carries IK10 impact resistance, and has been tested to withstand winds up to 50 m/s. That makes it a directly suitable option for coastal, port, and other high-exposure outdoor positions without requiring an additional protective enclosure. -
Does AXIS Object Analytics require a server or cloud connection to classify vehicles and people?
No. AXIS Object Analytics runs entirely on the camera using the ARTPEC-8 processor's dedicated Deep Learning Processing Unit. Classification of humans, vehicles, and vehicle types happens at the edge with no dependency on a cloud service or server-side processing. This keeps detection responsive regardless of network load and avoids ongoing cloud subscription costs for the analytics function. -
What does Forensic WDR at 120 dB actually mean for footage quality?
It means the camera captures usable detail in both the bright and dark areas of a high-contrast scene simultaneously. At up to 120 dB depending on scene conditions, Forensic WDR is specifically tuned to preserve evidential detail - such as a face in a shadowed vehicle interior against a bright outdoor background - rather than simply averaging exposure across the frame. Standard WDR cameras typically operate in the 90-100 dB range. -
Does the 180 fps frame rate apply at full 5 MP resolution?
No. The 180 fps capture mode operates in 720p (1280x720) resolution only. The 5 MP (2592x1944) capture mode runs at 25 fps (50 Hz) or 30 fps (60 Hz). The two modes serve different purposes: 5 MP at 25/30 fps for standard wide-area monitoring and high-resolution still extraction, and 720p at up to 180 fps where fast-moving subjects such as vehicles at a gate need to be captured with minimal motion blur. The appropriate mode should be selected at the time of configuration based on the site's primary monitoring requirement. -
What is Axis Edge Vault and does it affect how the camera is configured?
Axis Edge Vault is a hardware security module built into the camera that stores a unique, cryptographically signed Axis device ID. It does not change the day-to-day configuration experience for most installations. Its practical value is in enterprise and government contexts where IT security teams require documented device identity verification and secure network onboarding - Edge Vault supports those processes by confirming the device's identity at the hardware level, reducing the risk of counterfeit or compromised devices being introduced to the network. The P1467-LE is stocked by Security Australia for exactly these more demanding deployment contexts. -
Does the P1467-LE support Corridor Format for narrow aisle or laneway coverage?
Yes. The camera supports 90° and 270° image rotation including Corridor Format, which reorients the frame to a tall portrait aspect ratio. This is useful for covering narrow aisles in warehouses, laneways, stairwells, or any long narrow space where a standard landscape frame wastes significant resolution on ceiling and floor rather than the area of interest. -
Does this camera have optical zoom or motorised lens adjustment?
No. The P1467-LE is a fixed-lens bullet camera with digital PTZ and digital zoom only. Optical zoom and motorised varifocal lens adjustment are not features of this model. The field of view is determined at installation by the fixed lens and the mounting position. If the site requires adjustable optical zoom, remote refocus, or active pan-and-tilt tracking, a PTZ camera would be the appropriate product type to consider instead.
