Product Overview
Model: 4 x DS-2CD2T66G2-2I / DS-7604NI-I1-4P
Who This Is For
When covering long driveways, perimeter fencing, car parks, and building approaches is the priority, this 4-channel Hikvision AcuSense kit is built for exactly that brief. The bundle pairs 4 x DS-2CD2T66G2-2I 6MP EXIR bullet cameras with a DS-7604NI-I1-4P 4-port PoE NVR, giving installers and owner-operators a single-supplier system that is straightforward to plan and deploy. Each camera delivers 60m infrared reach and AcuSense Gen 2 human and vehicle classification, which means the NVR generates searchable alarm events rather than endless motion triggers. Contractors fitting out small commercial sites, warehouses, or residential properties with defined entry points will find this kit covers 4 distinct zones - front gate, side access, driveway, and a rear approach - without requiring additional switches or injectors. All power and data runs over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable per camera direct from the NVR.
What This System Actually Does
AcuSense Gen 2 Classification
Deep learning algorithms separate humans and vehicles from background movement like animals, wind-blown foliage, and shadows. The NVR logs each human or vehicle detection as a searchable event, so reviewing footage for a specific incident takes minutes rather than hours of scrubbing through irrelevant clips.
6MP Resolution at 3072 x 2048
At 6 megapixels, each camera captures enough detail to identify faces and number plates within its field of view, and the wider frame means a single camera covers a broader zone without moving to a varifocal lens. Recording runs at up to 20fps at full resolution.
60m EXIR Night Vision
Hikvision's EXIR technology uses a focused infrared beam that reaches 60 metres, covering long driveways and extended perimeter runs where standard 30m IR cameras fall short. At 0.0 Lux with IR active, the cameras operate in total darkness with no supplemental lighting required.
DarkFighter Low-Light Sensitivity
The DarkFighter sensor produces usable colour image detail down to 0.003 Lux before the camera switches to IR mode. In partially lit areas like poorly lit car parks or streetlit driveways, this means colour footage rather than washed-out greyscale.
4-Port PoE NVR - One Cable Per Camera
The DS-7604NI-I1-4P NVR has 4 built-in IEEE 802.3af PoE ports. Each camera connects with a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable carrying both data and power back to the NVR - no separate power adaptors, no additional PoE switch required at the camera end.
Who Buys This Model
- Small business owners with outdoor approaches: Retail car parks, trade yards, and small warehouses where 4 defined entry points need 60m IR coverage and searchable human/vehicle event logging.
- Security installers on residential jobs with long runs: Properties where the front gate, side gate, driveway, and rear access are spread out and a single Cat5e run back to one NVR location is cleaner than multiple power injectors.
- Property managers and strata committees: Townhouse complexes or small commercial blocks needing a documented, expandable IP CCTV system that produces reliable alarm events rather than constant false motion notifications.
- Owner-operators upgrading from analogue: Sites moving from older DVR-based systems who want a straightforward 4-camera IP kit with genuine AI filtering and H.265+ storage efficiency from a single trusted manufacturer.
Honest Assessment
This kit genuinely delivers on three counts: the 60m EXIR range suits long approaches where most 4-camera kits fall short, AcuSense Gen 2 classification reduces false alarm fatigue in a meaningful and measurable way, and H.265+ compression keeps storage requirements manageable for a 4-camera 6MP system. The single-cable PoE design also removes a common installation headache on new builds and retrofits alike. Where this kit has limits: the 2.8mm fixed lens gives a wide field of view suited to broad coverage, not narrow corridor or licence plate capture at distance - if number plate recognition over a long vehicle approach is the goal, a varifocal or ANPR-specific camera will serve better. The NVR carries a single HDD bay, so storage capacity planning before purchase matters. A 4TB or 6TB drive is a sensible starting point for continuous 6MP recording. Available through Security Australia, this kit suits sites with 4 clearly defined outdoor zones and cable runs within 60 to 80 metres of the NVR location.
Complete Package Contents
- 4 x Hikvision DS-2CD2T66G2-2I - 6MP AcuSense Gen 2 EXIR Bullet Camera, 2.8mm fixed lens, 60m IR, IP67, PoE 802.3af
- 1 x Hikvision DS-7604NI-I1-4P - 4-Channel NVR with 4-port built-in PoE, 1 HDD bay, H.265+
Before You Buy
HDD Not Included: The DS-7604NI-I1-4P NVR ships without a hard drive. For 4 cameras at 6MP recording continuously with H.265+ compression, a 4TB surveillance-grade HDD will provide roughly 10 to 14 days of footage depending on scene activity. A 6TB drive extends that meaningfully without any other changes to the system. Add a compatible surveillance HDD to your order before the kit ships.
Cable Run Limits: The NVR's built-in PoE ports support standard IEEE 802.3af at Class 3. Maximum reliable PoE cable run is 100m per camera on Cat5e or Cat6. If any camera position exceeds that distance from the NVR, you will need a PoE extender or a local power supply at the camera end - neither is included in this kit.
Quick Fit Check
- Good match if: You need to cover 4 outdoor zones - driveways, gates, car parks, or loading areas - with cameras that reach 60m in darkness and classify humans and vehicles to reduce false alarm callouts.
- Good match if: You are running a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable per camera back to one central NVR location and want to avoid separate power supplies, injectors, or a standalone PoE switch.
- You may need a different model if: Your site has more than 4 camera positions, requires varifocal or motorised zoom lenses for specific capture distances, or demands full-colour night vision without switching to IR - in those cases, look at higher-channel NVR kits or TiOC full-colour camera bundles on securityaustralia.com.au.

Real-World Scenarios
How It Compares
- Choose this if: You need 60m IR reach, genuine AcuSense human and vehicle classification across 4 outdoor camera positions, and a single-cable PoE install with no additional switching hardware.
- You may need a different model if: Your site requires more than 4 cameras, full-colour night vision without IR switching, or licence plate capture over long vehicle approaches - a higher-channel kit with TiOC or ANPR-rated cameras would be more appropriate.
- Pairs well with: A surveillance-grade SATA hard drive (4TB or 6TB) to complete the system, and a UPS unit to protect the NVR from power interruptions.
Common Questions
-
Does this kit come with a hard drive?
No. The DS-7604NI-I1-4P NVR ships without an HDD installed. The unit has 1 internal HDD bay that supports standard 3.5-inch SATA surveillance-grade drives. For 4 cameras recording continuously at 6MP with H.265+ compression, a 4TB surveillance HDD is a practical starting point, with 6TB providing additional headroom. A compatible HDD should be added to your order separately. -
Does this system work without an internet connection?
Yes. The NVR records locally to the internal HDD and operates as a fully standalone system. An internet connection is only required if you want remote viewing via the Hik-Connect app or web browser. Local recording, playback, and event search all function without any internet access. -
What does AcuSense Gen 2 actually change compared to standard motion detection?
AcuSense Gen 2 uses deep learning to classify moving objects as either human, vehicle, or neither - then only triggers alarm events for human and vehicle detections. Standard motion detection triggers on any pixel change, including animals, moving shadows, and wind-blown foliage. With AcuSense active, the NVR's event log contains only relevant detections, making footage review for specific incidents significantly faster. Security Australia supplies this kit with AcuSense enabled by default on the cameras. -
Will the cameras work at the full 60m IR range in all outdoor conditions?
Generally yes in dry conditions, but rain, fog, and heavy dust will reduce effective IR range. The 60m specification is measured under clear conditions. In areas with frequent coastal fog or heavy industrial dust, effective night-time range may be 30 to 45m. For consistently challenging environments, a higher-powered IR bullet camera or supplemental lighting should be considered. -
Can I add more cameras to this system later?
No, not to this NVR. The DS-7604NI-I1-4P is a 4-channel unit with 4 built-in PoE ports and no capacity to add further channels. If your site is likely to require more than 4 cameras within 12 to 24 months, specify an 8-channel or 16-channel NVR from the outset to avoid replacing the recorder later. -
Do the cameras record in colour at night or only in black and white?
It depends on available light. The DarkFighter sensor produces colour footage down to 0.003 Lux, which covers many partially lit outdoor environments such as streetlit driveways or areas with ambient security lighting. Below that threshold, the cameras switch to IR mode and record in greyscale at 0.0 Lux. If full-colour night footage regardless of ambient light is a hard requirement, a TiOC full-colour camera system is better suited to that need.
Cabling Considerations
- Cable Type: Cat5e minimum, Cat6 recommended for all camera runs.
- Max Cable Run: 100m per camera from NVR PoE port to camera under IEEE 802.3af. Runs beyond 100m require a PoE extender or a local 12VDC power supply at the camera.
- PoE Notes: The DS-7604NI-I1-4P provides IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE on all 4 ports. Each DS-2CD2T66G2-2I draws within Class 3 limits. No separate PoE injectors or switch required for standard installations.
- Wiring Tips: Run cable through conduit where exposed to UV or physical damage. Leave service loops of at least 500mm at the camera head to allow repositioning during final fix. Label all cable ends at the NVR patch point before terminating to simplify future maintenance.
