Product Overview

Model: AE-DI2032-G40

Who This Is For

For fleet operators and transport managers who need continuous visibility across mobile assets without relying on fixed infrastructure, the Hikvision AE-DI2032-G40 is built specifically for working vehicles. Whether you are managing a delivery fleet, service vans, construction plant vehicles, or public transport, this dashcam delivers 1080p recording across dual channels with onboard 4G connectivity and GPS tracking in a single hardened unit. The dual TF card slots provide redundant local storage so footage is retained even when a network connection drops. WiFi access allows quick footage retrieval when vehicles return to depot. Designed for industrial deployment rather than consumer use, the AE-DI2032-G40 suits fleet safety programmes where both driver behaviour monitoring and incident evidence capture are operational priorities.

What This Camera Actually Does

1080p Dual-Channel Recording

Records front and interior (or rear) views simultaneously at 1080p resolution. Both channels capture independently, so a single dashcam unit covers the driver-facing and road-facing angles needed for incident reconstruction and duty-of-care documentation.

4G Live Streaming

The built-in 4G module transmits live footage and GPS data to a fleet management platform while the vehicle is on the road. Operations teams can check vehicle location and pull live video without waiting for the vehicle to return to base.

GPS Location Logging

GPS data is embedded directly into recorded footage, stamping each clip with time, date, and map coordinates. This creates verifiable trip records for compliance reporting, insurance claims, and route auditing without a separate tracking device.

Dual TF Card Redundancy

Two independent TF (MicroSD) card slots allow mirrored or split recording. If one card fails or fills, the second continues capturing. For fleets operating in remote areas where 4G coverage is inconsistent, this local redundancy ensures footage is not lost between connectivity windows.

WiFi Depot Offload

When vehicles return to a depot with a known WiFi network, the camera can automatically sync footage to a local server or NVR without manual card removal. This suits fleets with daily return schedules where bulk footage management needs to be hands-off.

Industrial-Grade Housing

Built for vehicle installation rather than consumer dashcam use, the AE-DI2032-G40 is rated to handle the vibration, temperature variation, and power fluctuations common in working vehicle environments - conditions that eliminate consumer-grade dashcams quickly.

Who Buys This Model

  • Transport and Logistics Operators: Fleets running interstate or regional routes where 4G live tracking and GPS-stamped footage provide real-time visibility and verifiable delivery records for client disputes.
  • Construction and Civil Contractors: Plant and utility vehicles operating across remote sites where 4G connectivity may be intermittent - dual TF card storage ensures footage is always captured locally regardless of signal availability.
  • Fleet Safety Managers: Organisations running workplace health and safety programmes who need simultaneous road-facing and driver-facing recording to investigate incidents, coach drivers, and reduce liability exposure.
  • Government and Council Fleets: Councils and utilities managing service vehicle compliance, where GPS trip logging and dual-channel recording support audit trails and public accountability requirements.
  • Security and Patrol Companies: Mobile security patrol operators who need live 4G monitoring of patrol routes and GPS-verified attendance records for client reporting.

Honest Assessment

The AE-DI2032-G40 handles the two core requirements of a fleet safety deployment well - continuous dual-channel 1080p recording with GPS-embedded metadata, and remote 4G access to live footage and location data without manual intervention. The dual TF card architecture is a practical design decision for vehicles operating outside consistent 4G coverage zones, giving operators a genuine fallback rather than a single point of failure. The WiFi depot sync capability removes the need for manual card handling across larger fleets. Where this unit will not suit: it is not a fixed-point surveillance camera and is not designed for stationary infrastructure monitoring. If your requirement is perimeter coverage at a depot or yard rather than mobile vehicle recording, a fixed bullet or turret camera will serve that application better. The AE-DI2032-G40 is available through Security Australia as part of the Hikvision mobile vehicle camera range.

Before You Buy

SIM Card and Data Plan: The 4G module requires a separate SIM card and active data plan - these are not included. Before installation, confirm your mobile carrier has adequate coverage across the vehicle's typical operating area. For fleets running in regional or outback corridors, map coverage against the route before committing to a 4G-primary configuration, and plan TF card capacity accordingly for the longest coverage gaps.

Power Wiring: This is a hardwired vehicle installation, not a plug-and-play consumer dashcam. The unit draws power directly from the vehicle's electrical system. For professional fleet deployment, have a qualified auto electrician handle the wiring to avoid interference with vehicle CAN bus systems and to ensure correct fusing - particularly in newer commercial vehicles with sensitive electronics.

Quick Fit Check

  • Good match if: You need live remote access to vehicle footage and GPS location while vehicles are actively on the road - the 4G module delivers this without any fixed network infrastructure along the route.
  • Good match if: Your vehicles operate in areas with intermittent 4G coverage and you need guaranteed local recording - dual TF card slots provide redundant onboard storage that captures continuously regardless of connectivity.
  • You may need a different model if: Your primary requirement is fixed-location perimeter or yard surveillance rather than mobile vehicle recording - a fixed outdoor bullet or turret camera system will provide better coverage geometry and storage capacity for that application.

Real-World Scenarios

At-Fault Dispute - Delivery Fleet

A delivery van is involved in a roundabout collision. GPS-stamped 1080p footage from the front-facing channel confirms vehicle speed and position at the time of impact, resolving the insurance dispute within days rather than months.

Remote Site Operations

Construction vehicles working a mine access road with no 4G coverage for stretches of the route. Dual TF cards record continuously throughout, with footage syncing automatically over 4G once the vehicle re-enters a coverage zone.

Driver Behaviour Coaching

A fleet safety manager reviews interior-facing channel footage to identify harsh braking and fatigue indicators across a long-haul team. GPS data confirms route and timing, allowing targeted coaching conversations backed by timestamped evidence.

Depot Footage Retrieval

A council fleet of 12 service vehicles returns to a WiFi-equipped depot each evening. Footage automatically offloads to the server overnight without any staff touching TF cards - all 12 vehicles are managed the same way as a fixed camera system.

Security Patrol Verification

A mobile security company provides GPS-verified patrol logs to clients showing time, route, and video evidence of each site visit. The 4G live feed allows the control room to check any patrol vehicle in real time if an alarm is triggered.

How It Compares

  • Choose this if: You need dual-channel 1080p recording with built-in 4G live streaming and GPS in a single hardwired vehicle unit - particularly where remote 4G coverage gaps make dual TF card redundancy a practical necessity.
  • You may need a different model if: Your fleet vehicles require more than 2 camera channels - for example, side-view, rear, and cargo area coverage simultaneously - in which case a multi-channel mobile DVR system with external camera inputs will be a better fit.
  • Pairs well with: A fleet management software platform that supports Hikvision mobile device integration for live map tracking, remote playback, and event-triggered alert management across the full vehicle fleet.

Common Questions

  1. Does the AE-DI2032-G40 come with a SIM card included?

No. The 4G module requires a separately sourced SIM card and active mobile data plan. The camera supports standard SIM form factors, but you will need to purchase a SIM from your preferred mobile carrier and confirm the data plan suits your fleet's live streaming and GPS reporting requirements before installation.
  2. Will this dashcam record if the 4G signal drops out?

Yes. Recording to the dual TF card slots continues uninterrupted regardless of 4G connectivity. The 4G module handles live streaming and remote access, but local storage operates independently. If connectivity drops in a coverage gap, footage is saved to the TF cards and can be synced or accessed later when signal resumes.
  3. How does the dual TF card setup work - do both cards record the same footage?

Both slots support independent recording. Depending on configuration, the 2 cards can operate as mirrored redundant storage (both record the same footage as a backup pair) or as split storage (different channels or time segments recorded to each card). Confirm the exact recording mode configuration available through the camera's settings before deployment to match your fleet's retention requirements.
  4. Is GPS data embedded into the video footage or only logged separately?

GPS coordinates are embedded directly into the recorded video as metadata, so each clip carries its own location, time, and date stamp. This means footage retrieved from the TF cards is already geo-tagged without needing to cross-reference a separate tracking log - which matters for incident evidence where chain of data integrity is important.
  5. Can I view live footage from the vehicle while it is on the road?

Yes, provided the 4G SIM is active and the vehicle is within mobile network coverage. The 4G module streams live video and GPS position to a compatible fleet management platform or the Hikvision monitoring interface, allowing remote operators to pull up live feeds from any vehicle in the fleet in real time. Security Australia stocks this unit as part of the Hikvision mobile vehicle range.
  6. Does this dashcam record the driver (interior) as well as the road ahead?

Yes. The AE-DI2032-G40 is a dual-channel unit, recording 2 simultaneous views. The typical configuration covers both a forward road-facing angle and a driver-facing interior angle, which is the standard setup for fleet safety programmes that need to monitor both driving conditions and driver behaviour in a single device.
  7. Will the WiFi feature work automatically when I park at the depot, or does it need manual setup each time?

Once the camera is configured with your depot WiFi network credentials during initial setup, it can reconnect and sync footage automatically when the vehicle enters the WiFi range - no manual intervention needed per trip. This makes depot footage offload practical for larger fleets where manually handling TF cards across multiple vehicles each day is not operationally viable.
